Rock and gravel materials play an important role in both landscape design and structural landscaping projects.

At Sequoia Landscape Materials, we carry a wide variety of decorative and construction rock from smooth river rock and pea gravel to durable crushed stone and shale used for drainage systems, driveways, and construction bases.

Our rock products are available in bulk (¼-yard increments) or by bag, making them suitable for both small residential projects and large contractor installations.

Pea Gravel

Small smooth rounded stones (approximately ⅜”) that are comfortable to walk on.

Best Uses: Garden pathways; Play areas; Pet areas; Pipe backfill; Decorative landscaping

⅜" Chipped Shale

Crushed angular grey shale sized to pea gravel dimensions.

The angular shape helps it stay in place better than rounded rock. 

Common Uses: Walkways; Driveways; Chip sealing roads; Refreshing compacted gravel surfaces

¾" Minus Compactible Base Shale

Crushed shale used primarily as a compactible construction base. Allow for approximately 10% compaction when calculating the required quantity.

Sub-base for pavers and slabs
Structural fill and backfill

¾" Drain Shale

Crushed shale used primarily as a compactible construction base. Allow for approximately 10% compaction when calculating the required quantity.

½" and ¾" Brown Rock

Crushed angular brown rock available in two sizes.

The angular shape provides excellent compaction and stability.

¾" Trinity Rock

A mixed-color crushed rock featuring red, gray, and brown tones.

Provides both structural stability and decorative appeal.

¾'' Noiyo Cobble

This natural stone features a smooth, rounded shape with natural earthy tones. Its smaller ¾” size makes it easy to spread and provides a clean, finished look for a variety of landscape applications.

1½” Noiyo Cobble

This natural stone has a smooth, rounded appearance with a mix of earthy tones. The 1½” size makes it easy to use for a variety of landscape applications while adding a natural, finished look.

Best Uses: Garden beds, pathways, borders, drainage areas, and general landscaping. Its rounded shape and natural colors complement both residential and commercial landscapes.

2”x4” Noiyo Cobble

This natural stone features a smooth, rounded shape with natural earthy tones. Its 2” x 4” size provides a substantial decorative element while maintaining a natural, finished appearance.

Best Uses: Garden beds, pathways, borders, drainage areas, decorative features, and general landscaping. Its natural colors and rounded shape add texture and visual interest to landscape designs.

4”x8” Noiyo Cobble

This natural stone features a smooth, rounded shape with natural earthy tones. Its larger 4” x 8” size creates a bold, natural look and adds texture and dimension to landscape designs.

Best Uses: Garden borders, pathways, drainage areas, decorative features, creek beds, and general landscaping. Its larger size and rounded shape make it ideal for creating natural-looking landscape accents and defined areas.

Due to size variation, customers are encouraged to visit the yard to view these materials in person.

Decomposed Granite (DG)

Fine tan granite material (¼” down to fines) that compacts well and provides a natural appearance.

Ideal For: Garden paths; Nature trails; Dog runs; Bike paths; Patios and compacted surfaces

¾" Brown Lava Rock

Lightweight crushed lava rock used primarily for decorative landscaping.
